Join MSU Extended University and the Montana Institute on Ecosystems (IoE) for an interactive distance learning class focused on three key aspects of Montana’s climate–agriculture, forests and water resources, as well as the assessment of Montana’s climate that is currently underway to describe past and future climate trends that affect different sectors of the State’s economy.
The Montana Institute on Ecosystems presents this 4-week course, which is led by key researchers who are spearheading the writing of the Montana Climate Assessment (MCA). The course will be particularly relevant for landowners and agricultural producers; natural resourse managers; local and state govenment officials; and educators.
Participants from throughout Montana are encouraged to participate via live Web conferencing software. This course has no prerequisites and community members are encouraged to join. Participation in the live event is limited to 100 people per session, so we kindly request that when you register, please select whether you will be participating for each session in live time or would prefer to access the recordings.The Montana Institute on Ecosystems is a community of scientists and partners that studies Montana’s complex ecosystems, including the impacts of climate change on ecosystems and the ways in which people and nature are interconnected. Formed in 2011 with funding from the National Science Foundation’s EPSCoR program, the IoE has offices at Montana State University and the University of Montana. Partners are located at other Montana University System campuses and Montana tribal colleges.
