Montana Shakespeare in the Schools (MSIS) celebrates its 25th anniversary this season. MSIS brings fully produced, professional productions of Shakespeare to 11,000 middle and high school students annually. Executive Artistic Director Kevin Asselin, Guest Director Marti Lyons, and some of the actors from this fall’s production of Twelfth Night will discuss the history of both MSIS and Twelfth Night, and give participants a rare glimpse of the rehearsal process.

Kevin Asselin
Kevin Asselin holds an MFA in acting from the University of Illinois and a B.S. in music-theatre from Plymouth State University. Before assuming his current position, Kevin worked with MSIP for 13 seasons as an actor, fight director and director - and is a proud member of Actor's Equity. Additionally, Kevin was an associate professor of movement and acting at Oklahoma City University and has worked as a guest artist at Plymouth State University, Ball State, Kenyon College, University of Notre Dame, University of Illinois, Chicago Shakespeare Theatre, American Players Theatre, University of Idaho and Interlochen Academy.Marti Lyons
Marti Lyons is a freelance director living in Chicago. She recently directed Wondrous Strange for the Humana Festival at Actors Theatre of Louisville, starring the theatre’s Apprentice Company. She also directed Anthony Giardina’s The City of Conversation for Northlight Theatre Company, Will Eno’s Title and Deed for Lookingglass Theatre Company and a reading of Martín Zimmerman’s On the Exhale for the Goodman Theatre, where she received the 2015 Maggio Directing Fellowship.
