Increased globalization highlights the importance of international economic issues. How does international trade affect jobs, wages and the cost of living? How would the US economy be different if imports were stopped? Has Europe’s common market been successful? What about Greece? What about Brexit? What is a “strong dollar”? Is China manipulating its currency? (Yes.) What are the consequences for both China and the USA? How is domestic and foreign debt related to financial crises?
These questions will be answered with reference to historical and contemporary experiences in a variety of countries.
