Frank Nelson
Frank Nelson is an amateur astronomer and JPL Solar System Ambassador who has been looking at the night sky since he was six years old. His own childhood experiences of awe and wonder of the night sky inspired him to become involved in astronomy outreach. His outreach work is based on visual astronomy or being able to look through a telescope and see, with your own eyes, a planet, the craters on the Moon, a star cluster or a galaxy. Visual astronomy is also a direct link to the past as people throughout time have used only their eyes and brains to figure out who we are and where we are.
