Description
This tour will include a lecture describing the history of the Bozeman Fish Technology Center (BFTC), including current and future programs and various offices that provide fisheries assistance throughout the state. Presenters will also describe risk management protocols to prevent any Aquatic Invasive Species (AIS) from being introduced into the ecosystem. Finally, there will be demonstrations of techniques used for fishery research and husbandry, including the fish swim chamber, ultrasound, various water chemistry meters, microscopes and water reuse technology for fish culture.
Registration is required and space is limited to 20 people.
Open to members of OLLI at MSU and MSU Retiree Association.
About the center
The Bozeman Fish Technology Center is one of six Fish Technology Centers within the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service's Fisheries and Habitat Conservation Program working collaboratively with government, state, university and private partners.
