Description

This course will provide guidance on healthy aging across the lifespan. Topics to be explored include physical activity, nutrition, healthy brains, sleep, social activity, engagement with community, caregiving, respite, memory loss, fall prevention and planning for later years. This all-encompassing program will highlight simple steps to increase life expectancy and address issues that arise in later years of life.

Daniel Koltz

Daniel J. Koltz received his doctorate in leadership and gerontology from Concordia University in Chicago and his master's in community health from Montana State University. His current duties include teaching in the gerontology undergraduate certificate program and at Montana State University - Extension as a gerontology specialist. His research focuses on providing respite to caregivers and resources for Kinship caregiver programming, with grant-funded projects totaling over 1.25 million dollars to support caregivers. He is also working to bring research-based healthy aging programming to all 56 counties in Montana to improve longevity and quality of life across the lifespan.
