Description
Learn about the history of the Archie Bray Foundation for the Ceramics Arts in Helena and its impact on the Montana arts community and the state's cultural well-being. The presentation will also discuss the current university art programs, active ceramic art centers, and nationally known ceramic artists working in the state.
Course Takeaways
This course will help you appreciate the range of ceramic art produced in Montana today, as well as understand the state's ceramic art heritage and why it receives national attention.

Joshua DeWeese
Josh DeWeese is a professor of art who teaches ceramics at Montana State University and is currently the director of the School of Art. He served as resident director of the Archie Bray Foundation in Helena from 1992 to 2006. In 2022, DeWeese received a Montana Governor's Award in the Arts. He has exhibited and taught workshops internationally, and his work is included in numerous public and private collections.
