Montana State University STEAM Day (formerly Expanding Your Horizons) offers fun, hands-on workshops in areas like astronomy, paleontology, robotics, health, engineering, veterinary medicine, chemistry and much more!
Each year this one-day conference at MSU-Bozeman includes hands-on STEAM workshops plus lunch, and group activities.
Spend a day at MSU, meet girls from around Montana and MSU students who are taking STEAM classes and pursuing STEAM field careers. You will get to try out some new, fun activities in MSU labs and studios. By the end of the day, you'll have some innovative and creative new ideas for thinking about your future.
How STEAM Day Works
Each participant attends four workshops, which are clustered into “color groups.” For example, the Cherry group will attend workshops 1, 4, 10, 15. Color group workshops and workshop descriptions can be see below.
Participants rank their top 8 color group choices during the registration process, so make sure you know which ones you want before registering.
Every effort will be made to place participants in one of their top color choices; however, this is not guaranteed. All groups are unique and aim to “expand your horizons.” Each color group is limited and fills on a first-come/first-served basis. The conference is limited to 120 participants. Workshops are listed in numerical order, not in the order of presentation.
Please note that STEAM Day is an event for middle-schoolers only. We do not have space to accommodate parents. Thank you for your understanding.
