Learn the results of a recently completed status review of Montana's mountain goats that synthesized 55 years of population data from across the state, including mountain goats' biology and conservation challenges across their range. In the presentation, Bruce Smith will use photographic images from his book "Life on the Rocks: A Portrait of the American Mountain Goat," which won the National Outdoor Book Award.

Bruce Smith
Bruce Smith's career as a wildlife manager and scientist included 26 years at the Wind River Indian Reservation and National Elk Refuge in Wyoming. Besides his scientific and magazine writing, he is an award-winning author of five books of natural history, conservation, and outdoor adventure, including Wildlife on the Wind, Where Elk Roam, and Stories from Afield: Adventures with Wild Things in Wild Places. From his home in Bozeman he writes to promote conservation of wildlife and wildlands.
