Description
New York-based stage director Katherine M. Carter and Intermountain Opera Bozeman artistic director Michael Sakir take you behind the scenes of one of the most beautiful and controversial musicals in Broadway history. Following a discussion about the creative process, hear the cast and orchestra rehearse together in the theater for the first time.

Katherine M. Carter is a theater and opera stage director based in New York City. She travels to various companies, bringing a consent and community-based approach to her work. From generative play and musical development to large-scale opera, Katherine's expertise in multiple mediums provides a unique lens for guiding productions. She leads with passion, focus and a sense of humor.Michael Sakir
Conductor Michael Sakir has been praised for his "artistic authority," "fluidity of expression," and "great delicacy of feeling." He serves as the Artistic Director of Intermountain Opera Bozeman, which the London-based Opera News magazine praised as "a small but thriving opera company that is not restrained by convention." In the 2023-2024 season, Sakir conducts Carousel and La bohème with Intermountain Opera Bozeman. He will also make his guest conducting debut conducting Albert Herring with his alma mater, the Oberlin Conservatory of Music.
