Description

Montana Shakespeare in the Parks is thrilled to present our 2023 Shakespeare in the Schools (SIS) production of "As You Like It." Join us for a dress rehearsal and talkback with executive artistic director Kevin Asselin. The discussion will include the scenic, costume and sound design processes. Additional topics may include:

  • Casting
  • Role of the director and script adapter
  • Other elements of theatrical production

Additionally, there will be a discussion about the education workshops that are held following the performance in schools. When on tour, SIS presents the performance followed by a lively post-show talkback and related workshops. SIS reaches 47 schools with 53 performances in Montana and Wyoming each fall.

Preludes and Performances are a collaborative program offered to OLLI at MSU and MSU Retiree Association members.

Free for OLLI at MSU members. No advance registration or ticket are required.

Program Takeaways

Participants will better understand the components involved in producing a touring theatrical production, including insight into the educational programming process. They will also experience a behind-the-scenes dress rehearsal and the opportunity to ask the executive artistic director about his professional theatrical and teaching experiences.
