Description
We invite you to participate as an audience member at a dress rehearsal for one of our productions, Ride the Cyclone, by Jacob Richmond and Brooke Maxwell. In this hilarious and outlandish story, the lives of six teenagers from a Canadian chamber choir are cut short in a freak accident aboard a roller coaster. When they awake in limbo, a mechanical fortune teller invites each to tell a story to win a prize like no other - the chance to return to life. This popular musical is a funny, moving look at what makes a life well-lived! Get a sneak peek behind the curtain before we open this show to the public. The program includes a talk and Q & A with the director, Kari Doll.
Verge Theater is Bozeman's nearly thirty-year-old contemporary community theater. We create funky and brave plays with our fantastic volunteers and offer life-altering theater classes for kids, teens and adults, including those experiencing incarceration. Verge Theater envisions a world where everyone participates in the joy of theater and theater-making, helping nurture self-aware, compassionate humans and grow community. We have created a culture of radical inclusion, so everyone who comes to see a show, performs on stage or takes a class is met with open arms. This support sparks friendships between people who might otherwise not have connected. Our mission is to create offbeat, thought-provoking, heart-inspiring theater.
Program Takeaways

Charles Isherwood of The New York Times praised the original production, stating, "This delightfully weird and just plain delightful show... will provide the kind of thrills we look for in all musical comedies, however outlandish their subject matter: an engaging and varied score…. and a supremely witty book." https://playbill.com/article/why-gen-z-loves-ride-the-cyclone
