Jason Yager
Jason Yager is an experienced leader with a history of success throughout multiple environments, including working in higher education, high-tech industrial manufacturing and nonprofits. He has an extensive background in leadership development, education, operations management, research and development (R&D), laser physics, optical design and aeronautical robotics. As a Montana native, Jason obtained an M.S. in physics with a focus on photonics from Montana State University.
He is currently the chief operating officer at Vision Aerial, which designs and manufactures industrial unmanned aircraft systems. In this role, he oversees the company's day-to-day administrative and operational functions.
In addition, Jason serves as the president of the Montana Photonics Industry Alliance (MPIA), a nonprofit organization supporting over two dozen companies and nearly a thousand employees. The MPIA serves as a hub for Montana's optics, photonics, and quantum companies, as well as entrepreneurs, laboratories and universities, to commercialize, grow and sustain globally leading organizations that create high-quality jobs and economic opportunity in Montana.
Jason has been part of the Montana photonics community over the previous 25 years, along with teaching laser physics at MSU's Gallatin Community College.
