Description

The Feddes Family has been raising cattle and producing beef in the Gallatin Valley since 1925. They recently purchased and expanded the Amsterdam Meat Shop, intending to provide locally grown and processed meat to the Gallatin Valley. Today, Feddes Family Meats is the only Pasture to Plate provider in Southwest Montana that owns and operates a meat processing facility. Join the Feddes family and staff to learn more about and tour their Pasture to Plate business. After the program, a no-host lunch will be available in their new sandwich shop.

Registration is required and space is limited to 25 people.

Open to members of OLLI at MSU and MSU Retiree Association.

Jake Feddes

Jake Feddes knows cattle ranching, from cattle broker to bull breeding, and has a 95-year family history of raising cattle. However, he knew nothing about meat processing but knew that it was a golden opportunity when the Amsterdam Meat Shoppe was for sale. So, Jake, his wife and his parents purchased Amsterdam Meat Shop in 2020 and have transformed and expanded the historic facility into a regional meat processing facility for domestic ungulates, a retail storefront and community-centric coffee and sandwich shop.
