Since 2004, this group has held lively discussions of provocative books from around the world and many eras. The group reads mainly fiction but also timely nonfiction and occasional works of epic poetry and drama. The group is facilitated by by MSU Professor Jan Zauha who has degrees in literature and library science.
- January 6: Our Mutual Friend, by Charles Dickens (England), ~830 pp.
- February 3: The End of Drum-Time, by Hanna Plyväinen (U.S.), 349 pp.
- March 10: James: A Novel, by Percival Everett (U.S.), 320 pp.
- April 7: The Yiddish Policeman's Union, by Michael Chabon (U.S.), 468 pp.
- May 1: A Bend in the River, by V.S. Naipaul (Trinidad-Britain), 271 pp.
- June 2: "The Duel" and "The Story of an Unknown Man" (also known as An Anonymous Man) from The Complete Short Novels, by Anton Chekhov (Russia), Vintage edition.
Free and open to all OLLI at MSU members. Registration is required.
Members are welcome to attend all or select book discussion months. Obtaining books is the responsibility of each participant.
