Description

Montana has played a key role in metallic mineral resource production. Mining in Montana supported the U.S. through the electrification of the nation and provided key metals during two world wars. In the 21st century, critical minerals are important for high-tech and military applications and the green transition. However, these commodities are considered at risk, with supply chains vulnerable to disruption.
