Learn about the geology of Gallatin Valley and learn tips and tricks for your rock-hounding trips. Vince Rozzi, vice president of the Bozeman Gem and Mineral Club, will discuss the treasures that await you in the hills. He will also discuss what the Gem and Mineral Club can offer to aspiring rockhounds, including summer field trips, winter lapidary workshops, monthly educational presentations at club meetings and community outreach.

Refreshments at 5:30 p.m.

This collaborative community event is presented by OLLI at MSU and the Belgrade Community Library, with sponsorship by the Belgrade Community Library Foundation, and is free and open to the public. Advance registration is recommended, but walk-ins are welcome.

Please note that the Belgrade Community Library is in a new location: 205 E Main Street; located adjacent to Lewis & Clark Park.

Vince Rozzi

Vince Rozzi is an amateur rockhound and is the vice president of the Bozeman Gem and Mineral Club (MGMC). He will share basic local geological info as well as rockhounding and processing tips, resources and locations he has learned through informal education by BGMC members and through field trips and lapidary workshops.
