This presentation will explore how the design of our towns and neighborhoods can help community members stay healthy. As Gallatin County grows, creating places where people can walk, bike and obtain healthy food is important. Ms. MacFarlane, a research associate at Montana State University's Western Transportation Institute (WTI), will provide an overview of relevant local health statistics, prevention efforts and work that WTI and other community partners do to promote a healthier transportation system. The discussion will include how land use and transportation planning can lead to healthier communities by helping prevent diseases such as diabetes and heart disease. Join us to learn how we can build a healthier future together!
Refreshments at 5:30 p.m.
