Please note that 588 courses are intended as professional development for practicing teachers and cannot be applied toward credit requirements for graduate degree programs.
The 8th Annual STEM Summer Institute, Aug. 3-5, 2026, is a one-of-a-kind professional learning experience designed specifically for Montana educators to explore STEM implementation and integration across grade levels and subject areas. This year’s institute promises innovative K-12 STEM instructional practices, valuable resources, and inspiring local and national speakers. The event will feature a rich lineup of a keynote presentation, panel discussions, and breakout sessions organized around five strands:
Strand 1: Discovering STEM Learning Through Data
Strand 2: Future of AI and Technology in STEM
Strand 3: Mathematics: The Language that Powers STEM
Strand 4: Place-Based & Environmental STEM
Strand 5: STEM Careers, Pathways, and Industry Connections
Earn one academic non-graduate credit through MSU - Bozeman by participating in the Montana STEM Summer Institute and submitting an assignment following the conference. For the assignment, you’ll choose one of the following:
Creating a presentation to share the highlights of what you learned throughout the conference with your colleagues or administrator;
Writing a summary of each session you attended, along with how you may apply what you learned to enhance STEM teaching and learning; or
Creating an infographic or one-page info sheet that outlines a STEM concept or practice you learned.
Non-Credit Information
This offering allows participants in a non-credit program to earn academic credit. Please register for the program and academic credit separately. For information on registering for the non-credit program contact Melissa Tovaas, mtovaas@mt-schools.org
