Description

Works for violin and piano illustrate connections with Montana's settlers and immigration. Musical compositions representing specific nationalities will be performed with commentary depicting regions of Montana, such as the Metis and Scottish in northwest Montana, Mexicans in Billings, Dutch in Gallatin Valley, Finnish in Red Lodge, the Jewish in Helena and Slavic settlers of the Musselshell coal mines.

Julie Grosswiller

Julie Gosswiller, piano, recently retired as professor of piano at MSU. She is a highly desired collaborator with the region's most active classical musicians.

Carrie Krause

Carrie Krause, violin, performs as concertmaster with the Bozeman Symphony and as leader and soloist with baroque ensembles nationwide. She is the founder and artistic director of Baroque Music Montana, presenting over 50 concerts a year across the region.
