As vaccinations increase and the sun starts to shine, the world is starting to look a little more welcoming. Despite these upsides, we still find ourselves living with pandemic-related stress and uncertainty. If you work in education or have school-aged kids or younger, it's probably an understatement to say that the past year has been challenging. This panel of mental health professionals will address some of the stressors that parents and teachers have been facing during the pandemic and will present tips and techniques for managing stress and mental health challenges.

Alison Brennan, Ph.D., is an assistant professor in the Department of Health and Human Development at MSU and an extension mental health specialist at MSU Extension Mental Health. Her research and teaching interests include stress management, mental health literacy, prevention of substance use problems, stigma reduction, adverse childhood experiences and resilience. She is currently teaching "HDFS 460: Parenting." She is a certified instructor for both adult and youth Mental Health First Aid.Heidi Lester
Heidi Lester is the program manager for MSU Extension's Montana Kinship Navigator Program which connects relative caregivers to resources, services and research-based education. Her teaching and research interests include emotional literacy, parent/family dynamics, adverse childhood experiences, trauma informed parenting and using mindfulness as stress management. She is a certified Circle of Security Parenting facilitator, as well as a professional development specialist providing education to Montana's early childhood community.
