This Asbestos Awareness course, intended for the Montana WAP Network, educates attendees on the history of asbestos, its adverse health effects, asbestos material identification, correct PPE to use on a job containing asbestos, and more. The Absestos Awareness course is required by the DOE State Plan and the MT Wx Policy for Auditors/Inspectors prior to running blower door tests without supervision in client homes or assessing friability of suspected ACM.
- The course is recommend for staff at any level within the agencies that have not attended the training in the past or who could benefit from a refresher.|
- This training can be viewed remotely if needed. Please contact the Weatherization Training Center at 406-586-0070 or classes@weatherization.org to request the course Zoom link. The course will be filmed live via Zoom but will NOT be recorded for future viewing.

Growing up in the Gallatin Valley has offered Nick years of demolition, renovation and building experience as well as a keen knowledge of different building structures and ways of protecting homes from harsh Montana climates. He brings several years of weatherization field experience to the Training Center after working for the HRDC energy assistance program. His standardized work specifications (SWS) and code compliance knowledge shapes his teaching focus toward workplace safety and crew efficiency.Scott Vosen
Mr. Vosen is an Environmental Scientist, Project Manager, and Principal at Air Water Soil, LLC (AWS), an environmental and industrial hygiene consulting firm located in Great Falls Montana. He has 21 years private consulting experience providing a wide variety of environmental and industrial hygiene consulting services to a broad range of clientele in diverse settings – including commercial, educational, government, healthcare, industrial, military, municipal, and residential facilities and installations – under various/multi-party funding mechanisms, including BIA, Brownfields, DEQ/LUST, federal grants (CDBG, DNRC, etc.), private/corporate, and PTRCB. Mr. Vosen has been an EPA/DEQ-approved asbestos training course provider for over 15 years.- Auditors/Inspectors
