Description
Global Civics 2.0 is based on the same conceptual framework as the initial course taught in 2022. The principles of sovereignty, legitimacy, and subsidiarity form a lens to analyze trends and events in a global context, with a view towards the progressive realization of human rights at home and abroad. Through a series of PowerPoint presentations and group discussions, we will focus on a fresh and acute set of challenging situations on every continent - and in space.
Course Takeaways
As citizens of our domestic communities and the world, we must better understand what's happening elsewhere and why. We will approach select problems, crises, and opportunities in a multidisciplinary way, including key aspects of history, geography, political economy, and international law. The objective is to refresh our traditional civics knowledge and expand our shared understanding of rights and responsibilities that extend beyond borders.
