Ilya Dines, Ph.D., is a native of St. Petersburg, Russia. He completed his doctorate at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, focusing on medieval bestiaries. Dines pursued postdoctoral research in Cologne and Cambridge, where he focused on the production of medieval pigments, stained glass and bells.
