Description
Brush up on the most relevant and updated information on bear safety and awareness from Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks. A presentation will cover bear natural history, grizzly bear range and status, bear biology, attractant storage, and preventing and handling encounters. The presentation will be followed by hands-on track identification and bear spray training with our charging bear simulation and inert (practice) bear spray.
Space is limited to 40 people.

Participants will:
- Know how to identify bear sign.
- Know how to secure bear attractants while camping and at home properly.
- Identify bear behavior and how to respond to a bear encounter.
- Know how to use bear spray.

Danielle Oyler
Danielle Oyler is the Wildlife Stewardship Outreach Specialist for Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks. In this role, she develops, coordinates and delivers programs that share knowledge and tools to help people live with wildlife. She studied environmental studies and wildlife biology at the University of Montana and has lived in the Yellowstone Ecosystem since childhood. Over the years as an education coordinator, naturalist, conservation educator and park ranger, Danielle has developed a deep interest in and concern for Montana's people, landscapes and wildlife.Date | Day | Time | Location |
