Description

Participants will learn about the operation of a non-commercial public radio station. The program will discuss community radio, its objectives, and the services provided by KGVM. KGVM will demonstrate how its broadcast studio works, capturing public events like lectures and forums for broadcast and preparing audio for both broadcast and archival use.

Space is limited to 24 people.

Open only to members of OLLI at MSU or the MSU Retirees & Associates.

This program involves standing and walking for 30 minutes or longer. Mobility aids are not able to be used due to the stairs in the Labor Temple, and an elevator is not available. There is a half flight of stairs up to the main hall where the program begins and a flight of stairs down to the studio.

Bob Wall

Bob Wall has worked in software engineering in Bozeman for over 35 years. He is also the president of the board of Gallatin Valley Community Radio and the chief engineer and station manager for KGVM, 95.9 FM, a non-commercial radio station in Bozeman. He has helped operate the station since it went on the air in 2018.
