Prerequisites

Prior to enrolling in Classroom Observatory – Research, you must have completed the specified prerequisites (if you have not taken a prerequisite, you can click on the catalog code link to see a list of upcoming course sections):

Classroom Observatory

Classroom Observatory – A non-credit, online course for teachers who want to have their students implement classroom projects utilizing a robotic observatory. This course will focus on how to use the facility along with methods used in performing astrophotography. There will be an emphasis on how images taken at the observatory can be turned into student projects. Teachers should be familiar with basic computer skills. Upon successful completion of the course teachers will earn 30 hours of Montana Office of Public Instruction Renewal Units through Montana Learning Center. This course is a pre-requisite for Classroom Observatory – Research, scheduled to run in the spring 2021 semester.
