Instructor Bruce T. Gourley will provide an overview of the historical context for the domestic terrorist insurrection of January 6, 2021. The backstory of the insurrection lies within the ideology of Christian Nationalism, a worldview present at America's founding and throughout all of America's history. This course will focus on the history, scope, language, themes and value system of Christian Nationalism, providing participants with a basic framework for identifying, understanding and responding to an ideology that places authoritarianism above democracy.
