Description
Brush up on the most relevant and updated bear safety and awareness information from Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks. This one-hour presentation will include an introduction to bear safety and hands-on track identification. There will be a bear spray training with our charging bear simulation and inert (practice) bear spray. We cover bear natural history, grizzly bear range and status, bear biology, attractant storage, preventing encounters, bear spray, and how to handle bear encounters.
Space is limited to 40 people.
This program involves walking on varied terrain and/or stairs.

Danielle Oyler
Danielle Oyler is the Wildlife Stewardship Outreach Specialist for Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks. In this role, she develops, coordinates and delivers programs that share knowledge and tools to help people live with wildlife. She studied environmental studies and wildlife biology at the University of Montana and has called the Yellowstone Ecosystem home since childhood. Over the years as an education coordinator, naturalist, conservation educator and park ranger, Danielle has developed a deep interest in and concern for Montana's people, landscapes and wildlife.
