The lecture will examine the long-term trends of Supreme Court jurisprudence, the appointments process and the role of the Court in our democratic republic.

Jim Huffman
James (Jim) Huffman is a law professor and dean emeritus at the Lewis and Clark Law School in Portland, Oregon. He earned a B.S. at Montana State University, an M.A. at the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University in Medford, Massachusetts, and a J.D. from the University of Chicago Law School. He has taught constitutional law for over 40 years and has written numerous articles and three books on constitutional topics. His professional experience in addition to Lewis and Clark College includes visiting assignments at Auckland University (New Zealand), the University of Athens (Greece) and the University of Oregon.
