The OLLI at MSU March Friday Forum will feature a virtual presentation on Montana's citizen legislature, offering an overview of its structure, processes and updates on high-profile bills currently under consideration, providing valuable context on key legislative decisions. Attendees will gain insight into the procedures of the Montana Legislature and learn how to engage in the policymaking process through public comment, testimony at committee hearings, and other forms of participation.

The featured speaker, JP Pomnichowski, brings extensive experience in Montana state government. She has served two terms as a state senator, three terms in the Montana House of Representatives, and as Senate minority whip. Pomnichowski will share her firsthand knowledge of legislative operations and discuss significant issues shaping the current session.

You can easily register using our registration system if you are a current OLLI member. Participants must register no later than 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 14. If you are not an OLLI member, do not wish to use the OLLI registration system, or wish to register after registrations close, click or tap here to register directly through Zoom. Upon registration confirmation, participants will receive an email with the Zoom link and instructions to join the program.

Friday Forum offers presentations and lively discussions on local and regional timely topics. Friday Forum is free and open to the public.

JP Pomnichowski

JP Pomnichowski served two terms as a Montana State Senator, three terms in Montana's House of Representatives, and served in Senate leadership as Minority Whip. JP is a fifth-generation Montanan and has lived in Bozeman for 40 years. A graduate of Montana State University, JP has served on numerous city, county and neighborhood boards, environmental councils, the Montana Board of Labor Appeals and more. JP knows government, and you can, too!
